1. Introduction

Welcome to SubHarbor (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website subharbor.com (the “Service”). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the Service includes:

  • Authentication Information: When you choose to authenticate using Reddit (“Sign in with Reddit”), we receive your Reddit username. This is used solely to verify if you are a moderator of the subreddit(s) you wish to manage through SubHarbor. We do not store your Reddit password or other sensitive credentials.
  • Subreddit Information: To provide the service, we may fetch and store public information about the subreddits you manage, such as name, description, and moderator lists, potentially using the official Reddit API.
  • User-Provided Content: Information you voluntarily provide for your subreddit’s backup page, such as outbound links (e.g., Discord, Lemmy), introductory text, or announcements.
  • Usage Data: We utilize Supabase for our backend infrastructure, including database and authentication. Supabase may collect standard server logs, which might include IP addresses, browser types, and access times for operational and security purposes. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking services (e.g., Google Analytics).

3. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Service to:

  • Verify your status as a moderator for subreddit management.
  • Create and manage your SubHarbor account and associated subreddit pages.
  • Display the content you provide on your public subreddit backup page.
  • Operate and maintain the Service.
  • Respond to your inquiries or support requests.
  • Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Service.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our Service.

We operate on a “no tracking, no ads” principle. Your personal data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties for their commercial purposes. We may disclose information we have collected about you in certain situations:

  • By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
  • Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, such as data storage (Supabase) or hosting. These providers have access to your information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • Publicly Visible Information: The content you provide for your subreddit backup page (links, description, etc.) is intended to be publicly accessible via the permalink (e.g., `subharbor.com/r/your-sub`). Your Reddit username might be visible if associated with moderator verification logs internally, but generally not displayed publicly unless required by the features you use.

5. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You can manage the content associated with your claimed subreddits through the dashboard. If you wish to delete your account or data entirely, please contact us.

7. Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
